Bob Graham - Anatomy of a Picture Book

Ever wanted to create picture books or simply interested in the process? Find out some tricks of the trade from a master: Bob Graham. Thrice Children’s Book of the Year award-winner and creator of some of Australia’s favourite characters such as Jethro Byrde, Max and Dimity Dumpty, Bob will talk you through his process. Watch him delve into his journals, talk about the kernels of ideas and how he works them into a narrative. Find out whether story or images come first and just how much detail - and magic - little kids need.

Bob Graham has written and illustrated over 80 acclaimed children’s picture books, including How to Heal a Broken Wing, Max, which won the 2000 Smarties Gold Medal, Jethro ByrdeFairy Child which won the 2003 Kate Greenaway Medal., and Silver Buttons which won the 2014 Prime Minister’s Prize. His books have been translated into 37 languages around the world.
